Brunch in Medellín: an honest list by a Swiss bakery in El Poblado
Nine places in no particular order, our competitors included, and what each one is really good for. We only list places someone from our team has visited in the last three months.
Al Alma
A coffee roaster with a bilingual menu, open early.
Pergamino
Specialty coffee, with tables outside on Vía Primavera.
Hija Mía
Light, healthy plates and bowls with good coffee.
General Café
Open until late every day, so brunch can turn into a drink.
Le Brunch
A colourful, all-day brunch place in Laureles.
Ganso & Castor
A small French-style café; eggs Benedict and pastries.
Delarte Café
Opens at 6:45, the earliest on this list.
Malanga del Trópico
Colombian coastal cooking from the Caribbean and the Pacific: ceviche, coconut rice and seafood, with cocktails. Opens at 9:30 on Sundays and at noon on other days, so it is a place for a late, savoury Sunday brunch. Disclosure: it belongs to a business partner of ours.
Bread Factory
A Swiss bakery with a full brunch menu: Znüni for two, rösti and bread to take away.
Why we wrote this
Visitors ask us where else to eat in Medellín, so we wrote down what we tell them. We are on the list, and we say what we are good for: Swiss plates, a brunch to share and bread to take away.
